Are you claiming Universal Credit?

If yes, then it is your responsibility to tell Universal Credit when your rent changes - but please do NOT take this action until April.

If you have a Universal Credit journal you will get a “To Do” between Tuesday 1 - Sunday 20 April asking you to update your rent.

Please wait for this “To Do” before taking any action, and then provide the new rent as detailed on your rent increase letter which you should have received during February.

Please do NOT update your rent until you get a “To Do”. Updating your rent during March can lead to issues and confusion, so we ask you to please avoid updating Universal Credit at this time.

If you do not have a Universal Credit online journal, then please report your rent increase via the phone during 1-20 April and tell them the date that your rent goes up. 

For most tenancies your rent will increase on Monday 7 April.

If you have a monthly tenancy, then your rent will go up on Tuesday 1 April.
