Tips to support your mental wellbeing this autumn

Daran Bailey is a Psychotherapist (CPCAB), Award-winning & Gold Standard Mental Health First Aid Trainer, Resilience Practitioner, Trauma Therapist (BWRT) & Mindfulness Instructor. Here he's shared some of his tips for looking after your wellbeing this autumn.

Being responsible for wellbeing at the Aster Foundation means I’m always looking for easy ways to improve my mental and physical health. Getting out in the open air for some exercise and spending time with family and friends is a great way to combine the two.

Right now, nature is offering a bumper crop of blackberries and hazelnuts, all of which are packed with brain health vitamins. Hazelnuts also increase your levels of tryptophan which is a key hormone needed to help improve sleep and your overall well-being. Being outside is also a perfect way to get your daily dose of Vitamin D and support your sleep cycle. So why not get the wellies on, head out, and take advantage of the autumn sunshine.

Please make sure you do your research before eating nuts and are aware of any hazards.
